Mangamaunu

Point

Kaikōura & Marlborough, New Zealand

An exposed point break with very reliable surf that tends to go flat in summer. Widely regarded as New Zealand's best right-hand point break — a long, peeling wave that runs parallel to State Highway 1 with the snow-capped Seaward Kaikōura Range as a backdrop. The setting alone is worth the drive. Sperm whales surface in the waters beyond the break.
