Saber Reef

An exposed reef break on Stewart Island / Rakiura with very consistent surf year-round. One of the most remote surf breaks in New Zealand — accessible only by ferry or light aircraft from Invercargill, then a journey to the island's exposed coastline. The Southern Ocean delivers relentless swell, but the notorious Foveaux Strait weather means clean conditions are rare. When it does come together, you'll likely be surfing alone.
