Taylors Mistake

A fairly exposed beach break that has reasonably consistent surf year-round. Christchurch's most iconic surf beach — a sheltered cove just over the Port Hills from the city. Named after a 19th-century sea captain who mistook the bay for the port entrance. The walk over the hill filters out all but the committed, keeping the vibe good even on crowded days.
